Hi, Could anyone out there in HK with a UK licence please tell me if the UK PERF A exam equates to the HKCAD Airtransport Perf Exam on converstion?

No it doesn't. The HKCAD exam is a lot easier, but if you take the conversion, you will need to write it nonetheless. Generally speaking, UK ATPL holders will need to take Air Law Parts A and B, as well as Performance Transport, Type Technical and Type Performance.

126.9, many thanks for your reply. seems strange that can hold perf a for years & still need to do this 1 again but there we go i guess.

Think of it as jumping through hoops to put ticks in boxes mate. You'll be hard pushed to fail it anyway. I'd say the exam requires about 5 or 6 hours study to get through it well. :}
