After a nervous wait, Jetstar has finally been given the all-clear to fly its new fleet of Airbus 320s from Tuesday.

The Qantas low-cost subsidiary received its air operator's certificate to fly the 177-seat aircraft from the Civil Aviation Safety Authority late on Friday afternoon.

Concerns were raised last week over the launch date of Jetstar's new fleet of A320s, after CASA failed the Jetstar crew delivering the first aircraft from the Airbus factory in France.

But after "proving" flights last week and other checks, the airline finally got the go-ahead from the safety regulator.

wow, Its a worry then, the crew failed.

Having intimate knowledge of the way the designated CASA rep behaved on the A330 proving flights, I'm not surprised that, for 'public' consumption, the "crew" failed.

Firstly, you'll note that the crew flew the a/c on the delivery over a number of sectors with the CASA rep/s on board. If the crew were so inept as to cause a serious worry, you'd have thought the CASA reps would have called the show off at the first port. However, in 'route checking', things can happen on the last sector which give rise for concern; maybe it was that??

Secondly, are we ABSOLUTELY sure it WAS the crew?? :uhoh: With the knowledge of the A330 fiasco [on CASA's part, I stress:mad: ], there could have been 'proving' requirements which were a systemic problem and the easy press solution [and don't we all know it here!!:* ] is to say "the crew" failed.

Suffice to say that if CASA sign off on the deal, it's probably right and the delivery hassle was a hiccup. Give them a go!:D

G'day ;)
