G'Day

Can any of you experienced Regional pilots out there let us know if age (that is being a bit older) is in your favour for getting into the regionals? In particular REX. Say your in your mid to late 30's are you looked upon as being a better candidate as you are less likey to run off to the majors. Also say at 35 to 37, do the regionals recruitment look at age vs experience. ie say you have the min 1500 hours, but have had you Lic for 15 years, do they hold that against you.
Positive feed back would be appreciated.

Cheers

TD,
In the light that you will be in the RH seat for some time, the airline will want to see that you won't have a problem flying with a Captain who may 10+ years younger. That aside, yes a few years older than the average won't harm and maybe a small advantage.
I trained a lot of new entrants in my last job (regional) and they generally took guys late 20's. Lots of them subsequently (about 2 years) went to the domestic airline that had a recent large expansion!;) Prior to that expansion, there wasn't a huge movement out of the regionals.
