grrowler... had exactly the same experience with aerospace... attempted my instructors rating with them as well and only managed to get 4 briefings signed off in 8 weeks!!! that's the time frame they've given me for the whole course!!! it's one of the school that makes money with providing a bad service... they make you pay up front, if you then aren't happy with whatever service they provide - or don't - und therefore decide to leave they'll slug you with an 20% administration fee of the total course cost... which in case of an instructors rating is $ 2000.- (20% of $10'000.-)!!! and an additional administration fee of $ 100.- per month...
so, if you feel like dealing with instructors that don't give a rats ass, a managment that doesn't give a rats ass and an operations manager that lies as soon as he opens his mouth - then aerospace aviation is the school for you - if not try some of the following:
whitworth aviation and clamback & hennessy on bankstown airport,
curtis aviation on camden airport,
or if you're prepared to go further up north, hinchinbrook air services on innisfail airport south of cairns...
