Hope someone can help
I have the dubious pleasure of being a BT Yahoo Broadband customer
I thought I would dabble and teach myself a bit of HTML
As i go along it's obviously good to practice so i used my BT webspace (http://uk.geocities.com/[email protected])
To practice as I go along. First day, no problems I upload two simple pages, it all works as advertised. Next day and ever since, I can't view the website. I can upload to it, change it, view the stats but I can't see the damn thing. Colleagues can view it from their houses. I can view it on my sisters computer but on either of the two computers at my house...no chance.
In fact it appears I can't view any geocities 'personal' webspace although I can obviously see and use there online tools and stats pages....:*
I am running windows XP home and IE explorer 6.0
(I have also just downloaded Netscape to try their browser but same problem)
If you're still here, thanks for sticking with me....any ideas?

CsC, thanks for taking the time to have a look, but yup, already done all that...
I suspect its my settings with BTYahoo rather than the browser.

and before anybody comments (if anybody else reads this!) I know its a boring site but it is just for practice....come back in a year!)

It's a simple network, One host computer connected to a broadband modem
one slave/child computer connected to the network card of the host.
Upload is via geocities upload wizard (as I said I can get onto geocities (http://uk.geocities.yahoo.com/v/w/) here).
I have tried logging on with every possible combination of user names in the family!! and logging on from a number of complete restarts.
BTyahoo have finally got back to me however to inform me that it is either their problem or my problem!!!
Anyway, thanks again for your time...I'll keep on trying

Hi HandySnaks,

Is your machine using the correct IP addy to connect? I'd double check, but this is what I make it.

I have had similar web page problems, but these have now been fixed.
However, although I can upload and view my basic web pages none of the linked documents can be viewed either via the file manager or with the BT Yahoo browser (Internet Explorer). Netscape is OK.
My Pprune site. http://uk.geocities.com/[email protected]/alf5071h.htm

I have experienced additional problems with BT Yahoo e-mail since the introduction of spam guard and bulk folder; several of my BT contacts either cannot receive my mail or cannot reply to me. Possibly mail has been sent to their bulk folder and the mail system Outlook or Outlook Express cannot see that folder. Also I suspect that my address may have been automatically banned from the recipients inbox; anyone with similar experiences?
