A Lufthansa pilot left passengers waiting in his plane for nearly an hour as he rowed with a taxi driver over a disputed bill.
The passengers were strapped in ready to fly from Berlin to Stuttgart. But instead of engine noise all they heard was a heated argument from the runway below.
One of the passengers on the LH 1136 flight said: "As soon as we boarded the plane we heard a really loud discussion. It was about the pilot's taxi bill for 33 marks (around USD$15), which he wanted the Lufthansa people to pay."
Lufthansa admit the flight was delayed by 48 minutes because of the argument.
A spokesman added: "There was a misunderstanding about the transfer of the crew from the hotel to the airport. We will be looking at the reason for the delay."
