Seasonal Cabin Crew - If you have joined an airline for the first year do you get holidays during the first summer season. Which airlines offer holidays and which don't?

At First Choice, you get 8 days hols during your temporary contract. You can apply for specific days but it is unlikely you will get these during July or August.

Once on a permanent contract (usually starting in November), you will have 28 days holiday during winter (between Nov and April) and then 8 days between May and October.

After 2 years service, you can take 16 days in summer instead of 8, if you wish.

If you do not pre-book your holiday period withing the closing date, the company will decide for you and you will then have to call rostering to find an alternative.

36 days hols! Can't complain!

During winter, you can also request unpaid leave, which is something quite a few people do. It's useful if you plan a long trip overseas (like a month in Australia! Yay!).

At TCX temp crew receive the same entitlement as permanent crew.

They also receive in house concessions straight away. They can apply for their leave like any other crew and have as much chance as any one else of getting the dates they want.

'Fraid you don't get any hols on a fixed term contract at MON. If made permanent at the end of your seasonal contract you will then be entitled to any leave owing to you (probably about 13 days) AND your winter leave (14 days, i think!). This leave is to be taken by end of April. You then get two weeks summer leave to be taken by the end of october. If you dont bid for the leave dates you want before the cut off though, you will get your holidays allocated. Winter leave then becomes 16 days, going upto 3 weeks after 3 years service.

You can request upto 4 specific days off in any 1 month as well, but only 3 days running cosecutively. This is available to both permanent and fixed term crew, and just forms part of your days off 'allowance'.

Hope this helps,
