Been getting an extreme email attack by a virus called "w32.netsky.p@mm" !
Norton antivirus is dealing with them before they cause any damage, but is there anyway of stopping them reaching my p.c.?
Is bouncing back to the email address any good? It seems to come from a lot of addresses.
Hope someone can help. nooluv.....

nooluv,

Mailwasher Pro (http://www.firetrust.com/products/pro/) will let you stop them before you download them on to your computer.

Thank's Richard I'll have a look at that. I think the email set up I use (incredimail) has a similar system which you have to purchase.
Do you know if one is better than the other?

you'll be wasting your time bouncing them back 'cause the origin email address is almost always either fictitious or an innocent party. Better just delete them and forget 'em.

By the sounds of it Norton's deleting the attachments anyway - so there's no worries there, just inconvenience.

I have been getting two or three emails a day from people that I dint know with the netsky virus in the attachents. My virus checker (VET) catches them and cleans them, and I have set up some rules for my inbox to delete any emails that start with :- hi, Hi, Hello, hello, Important , and Information -: . The bad emails always start like that.

Also using Mozilla instead of ie so not as prone to baddies that might get in.

:ok:

Charles,

The whole point is deleting the spam before they ever get to your computer. ;)
