NORTHEAST VALLEY - A commercial business helicopter crashed in the Northeast Valley early Thursday afternoon, slightly injuring two Valley men and starting a small desert brush fire that guided rescuers to the scene.

The two men in their 40s, whose identities were not available, were flown by emergency helicopter to Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn at Drinkwater Boulevard and Osborn Road, Division Chief Joe Ducote of the Phoenix Fire Department said.

The men did not appear to have life-threatening injuries, Ducote said.

It was not known where the helicopter was headed when it crashed about 1:30 p.m., or from where it took off.

The crash site, southeast of Tatum Boulevard and Jomax Road, was in undeveloped desert, making it difficult for rescue workers to reach at first.
