All sorts being discussed in the crewroom, any ppruners have any ideas on which trade will suffer most?

Heard that of the 10K reduction mooted in the Sunday Mail that Trade Group 1 and 2 will be hardest hit. Given that these are the aircraft engineering trades then it follows that we are about to loose a significant number of aircraft! As the Engineers are already strugling to keep old kit going due to Self supervision and Multi skilling efectively reducing their numbers I guess it'll be interesting times ahead.:{

My view is that they will reach the target of 37k by not giving out redundancies.

Firstly theres no money in the pot so a quick solution is out.

Secondly it could be achieved due to the fact that half the RAF is planning on these "Redundances" and when there they are not forthcoming further disillusionment will set in and PVRs and 18 month notices will be common place.

Thirdly it could be achieved by station closures Colt Odiham et al , and with maximum disruption to family life by excellent planning in PMA, again out will come the PVRs.

Finally but yet to be proved could be when you extend your length of service there could be a condition of acceptance of the new pension scheme as in the case of ex rankers entering the commissioned ranks now.
