Recently I have seen the following in a METAR (I think).
-VCSH
I know the - means light and SH is Showers. I can't however find what VC means, and it's really starting to bug me. Does anybody know what this means?
Cheers

Well, you could try looking up the AIP, it's just amazing the stuff they put in there to help us dumb old pilots out.
:hmm: Try the AIP GEN 2.2-39, look under "V"
:ok:
Or people could just tell you?
VC= In the vicinity, but not further than 8KM away
Hope that helps

One would hope by know that you've found the answer, Showers in the vicinity!
To be completely accurate, Light Showers in the Vicinity

...or it could mean "Small Vietnamese soldier in the area, be quiet."
Probably not, though.
