Just back from holidays and saw a BMI British Midland in the blue and red livery small twin prop - 6 seater on the ramp at Manchester, just wondered why?

BM used to operate a Beech Baron. Perhaps they still do and that's what you saw. It would be used for either corporate or crew positioning flights.

I think you will find that it probably was the Beech Baron which is used by Austen Reed and Sir Michael Bishop alot. Last I heard it was based at EMX however is only used to ferry the directors etc around to meetings and such like. Unfortunately for BMI employees they dont let staff use it to renew single pilot IR/ME generally although I am sure there are some people who can pull the right strings??
