Is it true that the DC8 had no 'speed brake' and therefore to slow it down in flight the engine's reversor's could be deployed A/R.........'Lauda '767!!

Some DC-8 do have reversers that operate in the air, as for spoilers, l can not help with that one.

Over 4000 hours in the Diesel 8 sitting in all three seats, hardly a Pleb.

Alitalia on their DC-8-43's used reverse thrust on finals for speed adjustment.
