Jetstar's new Airbus arrives
Date: 21/06/04

The first of Jetstar's new fleet has arrived at Melbourne's Avalon Airport.

The Airbus A320 arrived on Monday after taking-off from Toulouse, France, on Friday.

It is the first of 23 new and larger aircraft purchased for Jetstar's domestic operations.

Qantas chairman Margaret Jackson and Jetstar chief executive officer Alan Joyce were in Melbourne to watch the plane's arrival.

Mr Joyce said the aircraft featured 177 all leather seats and an in-flight eight channel entertainment centre.

"The A320 aircraft will provide a comfortable and most efficient flying experience for our passengers when it joins our network operations on 20 July," Mr Joyce said.

"The A320 is exceptionally well suited to operate over the distance between many of Australia's capitals and major regional centres and will be the catalyst for the proposed future growth of Jetstar's network."

The Airbus will make its first passenger flight on July 20.

CC,

That's for sure. The zoom doesn't work real well: get in a bit closer next time!

I believe you may have taken these photos from the pointy end of the quadra puff Clarie...maybe from that bay in Darwin which puts you close to other aircraft. Hope you had a marshaller???
