Hi there,

GB Airways is a scheduled Airline operating in BA colours out of LGW and LHR aiport to destinations such as NTE, MPL, VLC, AGP, RAK, TFS, ACE, FUE, PFO, CMN, ect..
They operate the A320 and 321. Work as cabin crew has its ups and downs, just like any job really. Down side is the pay, you bring home approx 1,000 a month, or up to 1,200 if you work extremely hard with overtime!
Night stops boost you flight allowances (£2.47 an hour), (basic £10,043pa), although there are not a lot of nice stop overs. You can either be rostered a AGP, FAO or RAK, but they will be 3 sectors on either side and minimum rest downroute.
Mind you, saying that, there is a 3 day trip to FAO just being introduced now, with one day rest in FAO in between of 2 three sector days.
Crew is very friendly, with the odd old biddie taking their job too seriously. Good for the experience, wouldn't consider GB for an entire career though...
Hope this helped.
All the best to you.

only offer you a 6 month contract to start. Even though they say they are recruiting for permanent crew. Found that out at my interview in feb.

They give you a 6 month probation contract, and they offer you a permanent contract at the end of it... It's not a temporary contract, unless you make a professional error or get into trouble., It's a probation period.

I have sent GB my CV and I am currently waiting to receive the application form they will send me in the self stamped envelope...

I was just wondering if you know the type of time frame one can expect? If they are interested how long before they call for an interview and what can one expect at a GB interview?

Careful guys/girls!

Unless things have changed recently (but I doubt it), you won't get any BA benefits whilst working for GB as they are a franchise and as such, the company tends to spend as little as possible on their crew in order to be highly profitable! It's no secret!

Yes you wear the uniform but that's all you get! It won't give you seniority or direct entry with BA (if this is what you're looking for, long-term)!

I'm not bitching about the atmosphere, the work or anything like that and I'm sure there are loads of great people working at GB... but I just felt to let new applicants know about the reverse of the coin. So you know... :suspect:

Just to let new entrants know... You get exactly the same concessions at GB. No further comments please :D
The only thing that would enable you to tell the difference visually is a small piece of writing at the front of the aircraft saying GB

If it's true, that's nice! :ok: Thanks Dollyonline for mentioning it, my info were obviously not updated. Mind you, my interview was back in Feb. 2003.

Well done GB!

Hey there,
I have been with GB for a few years now and have always had BA concessions since joining. The only thing we lack is the intranet, which would are lifes alot easier than having to fill in forms and then waiting for tkts etc. But things are getting better with are staff travel department.
