On BBC world TV today I think I saw a short scrolled headline about a threatened world-wide pilot strike, and I think the date was 1972.
Anyone recall any details?

If it was really discussed it must have been the last true attempt at universal aircrew solidarity.
I suppose any effort to send a world-wide message to terrorists would be laughed out of town in this day and age.

Quelle dommage! :{

I think it was intended as some sort of 'anti-hijacking' downtools (and this in the 'good old days' when it was all such a jolly jape- hijack and be taken somewhere and actually want to get their alive!). I was in Cairo at the time and I'm afraid we bottled out, but I think the official action was called off anyway at the last minute.
