i know this sounds very spotter-ish,but i was actually flying as a passenger up to kenya last friday morning, and noticed from our bay at the terminal,Air Seychelle's 737-700 overflying the airfield from west to east.this is highly unusual.then around ten minutes later,i saw fire tenders along the runway, followed shortly by the arrival of the air seychelles plane on 03L.they followed it up to its bay,as is standard procedure.

i know there are often similar situations, but was just interested to find out what was up in this case? why overfly the field?

Are you sure it was Air Seychelles or possibly neighboring island's red tailed A319, which had a nose gear uplock problem and was flown up from Cape Town to FAJS with the gear down, and then onto Mauritius?
