Saturday around midday just south of Beccles was seen a low low level Tristar, a VC10, & an AWACS each attended by 3 Tornadoes, plus a lone Nimrod.

Impressive sight, but where were they going? Airshow at Yarmouth perhaps?

Just curious - such a big gaggle is seldom seen.

Actually, the Nimrod seemed to be there to give a flypast for me as I walked the dog.

The other stuff might have been for Auntie Betty, though.

Scary Moment

Remember being on the flypast one year and during the full rehearsal we set off on the wing of a Timmy from the Cromer area. We were (of course) smack on track and on time at the correct height - well the Timmy was in charge otherwise we could have been anywhere! As we approached Southwold the plan was for an E3D and a gaggle of (possibly) Jaguars to join from their holding pattern on a ninety and roll out in front on time and in the corect position. The E3D was late but was relaxed because he had masses of track miles to run to make up time and be in position for the on top at Brenda's Palace. What he didn't think about was that he would soon be flying in the piece of sky allocated to a Timmy + 4 x F3s! Ensuing bomburst over Southwold must have looked impressive from below!
