Stayed in YBBN for a few nights and was woken by very noisy A/C departing RW 01 about 3am. One sounded like a F28, What happened to the 6AM curfew?????:confused:

As far as I know, while they try to keep the noise levels down, there is no official curfew at the "new" airport.

Its probably Jetex (I'm not too sure of the proper company name). They run a few B727 aircraft (freighter) throughout the night between BN & MEL as well as BN & TL/CS I think to the north.

There is no curfew at BNE. Prefrered runways are used and aircraft are to remain over water below 5000'- rwy 19 for arrivals and 01 for departures. A good chance it was Jetex 9 (I think) a 727. I think air narau (sp?) also departs in the wee hours. It is not the only departure, there are numerous metros, a B1900, a caravan ocassionally, and a 146 arrives, it is surprisingly busy at 3 am.
