A Legend Passes Away

The pilot of the original Memphis Belle died recently. I believe he once said that 25 missions doesn't sound like many, until you start flying them. RIP

I had the priviledge of flying Col Bob in a Bulldog ac over the white cliffs of Dover during his visit to the UK in 97. A more generous, unpretentious, understated hero would be difficult to imagine. Great honour to meet him and fly with him.
