Got this from a German accident news site:

DATE: 10.10.2001 LOCAL TIME: ~23:45
LOCATION: Cebu City-Mactan Intīl AP / Philippines
AIRLINE: AJT Air International
TYPE: Ilyushin 86 REGISTRATION: - C/N: - Age: -
OPERATION: INP FLIGHT: Vladivostok -> Melbourne
OCCUPANTS: 286 pax + 27 crew FATALITIES: 0 INJURIES: 0 DAMAGE TO AIRCRAFT: minor/substantial(?)
On approach, the aircraft flew too low and struck at least 19 approach lights and knocked down a localizer antenna before a safe landing was made. According to unconfirmed reports the aircraft suffered a fuel emergency situation prompted the pilots carry out an emergency landing at Ceby City. The aircraft left the airport again at about 03:30 the following day.

Notice (after the fact that there were 27 crew on board!) that the aircraft landed at around 23.45 and despite having demolished a fair number of the landing lights, managed to leave about 3h30 later!

They don't hang around, these Russians!

There has been an AJT IL86 parked at Melbourne International over the past few days. Anyone know if this is the same aircraft, and what is the reason for this unusual visitor to Aus ?
