Shades

Thinking of getting a pair of prescription sun glasses with lenses which react to light levels.

Do they work in the flight deck? Or will the window glass already filter out the UV which makes them work?

These adjusting lenses are no good for fly crew.

The reaction times are too slow (especially the de-colouring process is slow) and they also colour up in the cold.

So on a cold winter's cloudy day you will be walking with shades on and see nowt. Same if you descend from a flight on top in the sunshine into an overcast and drizzle underneath.
