I was sad to learn of the death of "Spud " Borer recently at the age of 88 after a short illness. Spud worked for many years as Barnes Wallis's assistant and in later years was a daily visitor to Brooklands where he of course worked since 1936. I met him on a couple of times and once he was kind enough to show me all the film footage of the Highball tests in Scotland during WW2.
