Does anyone know whether bmi British Midland have a crew base for A319/320/321 pilots in Manchester - or is it just the A330s that are based in Manchester?

Thanks

bmi has no 319/20/21 flight deck based at MAN. Some MAN based 330 flight deck might undertake "mixed fleet flying" (MFF), i.e mix of short and long-haul.

Thanks for the reply. Do you know which bases the A319/320/321 crews use?

Thanks

Just to complete the picture. Very small base at MME, currently Fokker, will convert to Airbus soon. Small base at LBA, currently Fokker, will convert to Airbus later this year.

Are we absolutely sure there are no Airbus crew at MAN? I see a quy on a frequent basis in our local pub who, as far as I know, is still with bmi on the A320/321.

The local is 20mins from MAN.

Maybe he knows how to get some wicked night stop rosters.

There are a number of A320/1 flight crew who are LHR based but live in manchester, they would of course luv there to be a MAN base, but sadly there isn't one, so they commute to LHR, then start their day from the sunny south.
On the other hand there are A330 Longhaul crews who are MAN based (only a few), who are Multi Fleet Flyers who also operate the A320/1. Perhaps it is one of these chaps (chapesses) you have seen.

Life in aviation is always a lot more complicated than you think !!
