Hi folks,

A cousin of mine is travelling Heathrow to Perth with Singapore Airlines next week so I was just wondering if it's possible to organise a flight deck visit for him.

Thanks for any info,

VFE.

Hi VFE,
Ever since 911 the jumpseat is totally out of bounds to pax. Even my loved ones can't visit let alone sit in the flight deck.
My humble apologies.

Thanks for the reply HSD,

Shame about that but at least you confirmed my suspicions. Thought that maybe there was a slight chance some airlines when travelling into certain countries could wave the no visits rule but alas.......

Perhaps if my cousin was flying into Outer Mongolia in a Pickfords Van with wings then the powers that be might not be too concerned. I shall recommend.... err ......I mean, mention it to him. ;)

Thanks for you time anyway and no need to apologise, it's not your fault.

VFE.

Hi VFE,

It's been recommended on this forum several times that one should ask after landing........this is often acceptable.

Not quite the same as viewing when in flight I know, but better than nothing.

I hope he's lucky!

Without mentioning any names, I KNOW that certain airlines still allow non-airline personnel onto the flight deck. ie family members occupying jump seat.

These are not 'european' or US operators.

Anyone care to comment?
