Just wondering if anyone with experience on Citations can tell me the major differences between the C500, C550, and the C560. Engine types for each along with some performance stats, along with any additional information would be apprieciated.

Thanks

Bum,

That would be a long reply. If you contact your local Cessna office they will be able to provide all that for you.

C500 is a Citation I - Old and not really up to much these days.
C550 is a citation II/Bravo - Bravo is quite a nice a/c depending on your requirements. Bravo is an uprated II with EFIS, bigger P&W engines, thrust revers and quieter.
C560 is an Ultra/Ecore - Ultra is a CII with a 2.5 ft fuselage plug and bigger engines, wing root plugs, more range and shorter landing distance. Encore is the same done to a Bravo.

Best of the bunch on performance is the Encore but it depends on your requirements vs budget.

BUSHBUM:

got no numbers on the 1 nor the bravo but have flown II, S/II and V:

citation II could either be the

II - MTOW 13300 or later 14100 lbs (FROM SERIAL 627 ON)
IISP - 12500 lbs
S/II - 15100 lbs (is basically a II empannage bolted on V wing)
or
bravo - 14,800 lbs
Max Fuel - 4,860 lbs

all of em are C550, except the IISP which is the C551 (SP=Single pilot)

C560 could be:
V- JT15D? 2900 lbs thrust
Ultra - a V with upgraded avionics and more punch (I guess 3100 lbs thrust)
Ultra encore - upgraded Ultra with trailing gear alike the bravo, and more modern engines - PW540 I think

the II and IISP are powered by P&W JT15D-4;
the S/II has JT15D-4Bīs
the bravo has P&W PW540 bolted on

Speeds:
II and IISP do roughly 365 KTAS
the S/II is a tad quicker, about 385 KTAS
bravo is said to cruise at 400 KTAS
V- 420 KTAS
Ultra and encore - 430 KTAS

II and IISP hold 5000 lbs of fuel
S/II 5800 lbs
Bravo - 4,860 lbs
V / Ultra- 5800 lbs
Ultra encore - no idea

S/II is the only one that features TKS deicing... all other stabilizers are "booted", the outer wings have boots.
The inner wing (fairing) is either electrically (II / IISP/Bravo) or Bleedair (V, Ultra, Ultra encore)

hope that helps

The Bavo has electric heating for the inboard wing...............

encore holds less fuel like 5600lbs.

The reason is the trailing link landing gear is bigger taking up more fuel tanks.

The engines are more efficient and can outclimb a Ultra so the encore has a greater range.

I fly both quite a bit if you have any questions on those two planes ask away.
