Now one of those photographs looks slightly out of place, but I can't spot which one... :)

I first met "Shi**y Six" when I took a 208 Meatbox aerobatic team from Abu Sueir to perform at Habbaniyah's BOB display in 1954. Six were based there with Vampires I recall. They were very much the blue-eyed boys of MEAF - won the Imshi Mason trophy year after year , while 208 were always in the dwang. Six looked after us very well and AOC Iraq laid on an excellent dinner and PU at Air House. After-dinner entertainment was an obstacle race around the magnificent Command Gardens using the Triumph Speed Twin motorcycles with which the RAF Police were equipped for escort duties. We ruined the gardens and the bikes!

Six had an historic screen in their crew room dating from WWI. It was concealed and shown only to specially invited guests. It was one of the old folding bedside screens used for privacy pre-war. The inner surfaces were covered with a magnificent collection of hardcore pornographic photos and postcards dating from WWI and earlier. Does anyone know what happened to this historic gem? It should be in the RAF Museum.

Good luck to Six - and no hard feelings! :D

It's the fourth one down. The only aircraft whose speed and ceiling is what you'd expect for an aircraft of its class!

Faltus veteranus.

That dates you a bit ! You must have been with 208 in the Bush Barry/ Laurie Jones era. I remember seeing that team roll 9 Meteors. Very good it was too.
