Hi everyone.

I have just completed my first jet endorsement on the 737-300 to 800 with Alteon in Seattle.

I have two basic questions.

1. How did you get your first brake ( jet job) with no previous jet experience.

2. How can I get that elusive 500 hrs jet time to get employed?

I have near 4000 hrs of which most is multi in command on turbo prop aircraft. I have an ATPL Inst rating and have worked for 5 airlines.

Please advise as like many of you I have a family to support and I am constantly trying new ways to succeed which explains the new endorsement.

If You are in Australia visit one by one who has B737 there.

Good luck

Not in a position to offer advice but it may help others if they know how old you are - if you have 4000 hours and are 26 I'm sure it will happen eventually - if you are 55 then it is a whole different ballgame.

Just an ideea:
I've heard of many us pilots flying in some distant areas just to gain this minimum required hrs.For ex in middle east or Africa.I'm not talking,of course, about Emirates or some other big comp. There are smaller comp with 737's. not as safe as home, but good experience building.
