Hi all,

Just been looking through the aviation catalogues.

Can anyone recommend a Dictionary of Aviation Terms?

I have been looking at:

1) Dictionary of Aviation Terms by Dale Crane (ASA) = £14.95
2) Aircraft Technical Dictionary by Jeppessen = £10.95

Any opinions??

Many thanks,

Jinkster

JAR-1 "Definitions", freely downloadable from the JAA's website.

Maybe not as good as the others, but you may as well start with it.

I've used Dale Crane's one for years. Helped me through 2 ATPL's.
Here's the JAR (http://www.jaa.nl/section1/jarsec1.html) that Genghis mentioned. Bookmark this site.

Dale Crane dictionary is looking favourite.

I am on the brink of ordering it, is the dictionary more for pilots or engineers or both?

Thanks for the replies.

Hi Jinks,

I find it applicable to both pilots and engineers which is good.
