I am sick of this crap NAS system. There are so many incidents that go unreported or are hidden by the authorities and I reckon it's time us pilots speak up! Lets share experiences here.

Sounds good. How about you support your argument and go first? :)

And why are the incidents going unreported? Hardly a positive safety culture either within your organisation or the wider aviation community. Pity CAIR (Confidential Aviation Incident Reporting scheme) was abolished by ATSB.

It was???????????

I think I have a CAIR form printed BY the ATSB in my nav bag somewhere!!

When did this apparently take place?

ST Not so

Aviation Self Reporting Scheme
Following an amendment to the Civil Aviation Act 1988 and associated regulations, a new voluntary and confidential aviation reporting system introduced by the Government, entitled the Aviation Self Reporting Scheme (ASRS), commences operation on 21 February 2004. Within the ATSB the ASRS replaces the Confidential Aviation Incident Reporting (CAIR) scheme.

This new one is only to dob in yourself and not others. It is a joke. Easiest way to not have incisents is to have no way to report them.

mexicomel Interesting you've got a newly created account and this is your first post. Perhaps a re-incarnation? Who were you in a past life? I was Napolean apparently ;)

Well? Tell us what exactly is happening. If you are being officially ignored post it here. If something horrible happens I'll still be sitting in my chair so feel free to be specific rather than just venting some angst, in your own interest.

Petitions to John Anderson, Dick Smith name calling, backward usernames, non-de-plumes, ASRS conspiracy theories................whatever.

Has anyone realised, despite all of the above, it would appear :

NAS is here to stay! :oh:

If your version of pilots speaking up is sharing ghost stories around the PPRUNE campfire, NAS will certainly be here to stay.

You're complaining to the wrong people!

Thank you all for your kind word, including you Napolean. I was dick smith in my last life and I have come back to haunt the world of aviation. Re the NAS System, E airspace is the problem i am referring to. Commercial aircraft are being held to ransom my the private aicraft, and putting passengers at risk. NAS is here to stay but some reforms should be made, and made fast before there's a mid air collision.

mexi...amigo
some sense at last.
It is a dumb system. It has nothing to do with safety but it .is government policy.
sooo...

NAS is here to stay but some reforms should be made, and made fast before there's a mid air collision.

We will have to deal with the inevitable. When it happens we all will be able to either say I told you so or do something now!!
