"Birmingham International Airport has been evacuated after a the discovery of a suspect package.
Airport officials said about 1,000 people have been taken to the nearby NEC conference centre as a result.
Police were called in after the package was discovered in the main terminal building at about 0840 BST on Sunday.
Flights in and out of the airport have been cancelled until further notice and the Army has been called out to deal with the incident."
