BMW drivers get most sex

Sat May 1,10:19 AM ET

BERLIN (Reuters) - BMW drivers have more sex than owners of any other cars and are much more active than Porsche drivers, a new German car magazine has found.

The German magazine "Men's Car" found in a survey of 2,253 motorists aged 20 to 50 published in its inaugural May issue that male BMW drivers say they have sex on average 2.2 times each week while Porsche drivers have sex 1.4 times per week.

Following BMW drivers were Audi (2.1), Volkswagen (1.9), Ford (1.7) and Mercedes (1.6). Drivers of foreign car makes were also behind BMW with Italian cars (2.0), French (1.9), Japanese (1.8), Swedish (1.6) and Korean cars (1.5) trailing after.

Among women, French car drivers were top with 2.1 times per week followed by Audi (2.0), Italian (2.0), and BMW (1.9) with Porsche again at the bottom of the scale at 1.2 times per week.

How about something remotely relevant to this network, like research into the sex lives of Boeing drivers vs Airbus drivers??

If male BMW drivers are having sex 2.2 times a week (personally I'd call that a weak) but female BMW drivers only make it 1.9 times, how do they account for the missing 0.3 bonks per average week....or is that where automatic transmission "comes in handy"?:D

...drive Nissan about, ain't missin' out....

my word but I'm funny after an eighty-hour week.....just love vintage time....cheers.....

Was wondering how long it would take for Beemer drivers to be slagged!

The survey doesn't say what kind of sex does it? May all BMW drivers are all poofs?;)

Or perhaps there is no one else involved (except in the mind).

Fits in nicely with another theory many have about BMW drivers.

Am NOT a poof.

Would be extremely grateful for 2.2 times per YEAR right now!!!

I drive a Beemer - when I get home, have been for years. Settled somewhat now, so x times a week is irrelevant, but heretofore cant say it made any difference.

Then, I'm not your "typical" Beemer driver and would certainly not be attracted to someone who thought she was on to a good thing 'cos I drove a "flash" car...

Perfectly reliable, very economical, doesn't squeek or rattle, excellent performance, lovely to drive, slow depreciation (buy it S/H) give it a wash and its still presentable eight years on. Change it? get real... spend the money on a holiday.

As they drive over-priced pieces of Teutonic tat BMW drivers have little else to feel smug about other than their supposed sex lives. I for one believe that beemer drivers are coke sniffing toss pots, particularly those that drive the cheap little silver pieces of kraut krap like the one that killed my cat.:E

Isn't a BMW also known as a Bavarian Cortina???

mini
2nd May 2004, 21:43
ABB, never tempted to sniff said stuff in my life.

ETTS, the 3 series was known as the Bavarian Escort.

Used to work in the M industry.

Forget the perception for a while, go drive one. If your character is weak enough to be governed by how others percieve you... what to say?

Presume you have never driven or certainly don't own one?

Therfore you're opinin doesn't count in terms of experience.

Everybody's opinion counts in term of perception however...

Ripline,

re-read this and maybe picked you up wrong. Said Beemer is the best thing I have ever owned... bar none. 318i, metallic & sun roof, still has steel wheels & plastic hub covers. Fitted a removable hitch, pull a boat from time to time... 125,000mls at this stage, no probs. Only a fool could outwit the handling. I\'m an automotive engineer and I take my hat off to these guys

When it comes to speed, I have a highly modified rally Mini. Hence the handle... 72 mph in second...

Cheers, mini :ok:

It only has two gears?

Must be an early one.:D

Never really understood the animosity that a BMW generates, I have only had one other car that made people behave like childish morons an that was an Alpine GTA. Others would deliberately go out of their way to carve in front of you or pull out and make you brake hard.

I am on my 4th BMW and, having driven many quality cars, nothing can compare in my book.

I also admit to owning a BMW, although it is over 10 years old now.

It is an excellent drivers' car. It was designed to go well on the motorway, which is why I bought it as most of my mileage is of that type. It is totally reliable and it costs less to keep going than our other family car, a Ford Fiesta, mainly because the parts weren't designed to self destruct after about 5 years or 50,000 miles. And it is simple enough for me to service it myself.

Oh yes, and of course it has a lot more sex than a Vauxhall (Oh, you're rep then?) or a Nissan (can't you afford a real car?) or Toyota (Mm, how very exciting...zzz).

In view of the survey, it should be obvious to all by now that the reason BMWs are driven in a spirited manner is that it is impolite to keep a lady waiting.... ;)

The 2.0 times a week is easy to understand, the 0.2 is probably a DNCO when the driver got delayed by slower traffic and lady number three got started by herself :E

Ozzy,

"I have never bonked a BMW".

Cars are fussy who they open their trunks for, you know - there is a code!

You probably drive a Nissan (Now Is Sex Seen As Necessary)?

A Rover? (Randy Old Virgin Ever Rebuffed).

Or even worse, a Citroen? (Cars In Tatters, Roll Over, Even New).

Actually I can think of another one for Citroen but it'd probably get me in trouble so I'd not print that.. Some "C" words are banned. :p

It's official BMW drivers are t****rs!

Sally Traffic confirmed on Radio 2 yesterday what the nation already felt.

It is now apparent that the mantle of motoring tosspot has passed from the trilby wearing, pipe smoking Volvo driver of yesteryear to the arrogant, vacuous a***hole that is today's BMW driver.:E

VFE following on from TT5s comment makes you wonder why she felt it necessary to tell you her ex had a tiny willy.... :ooh:

Have never owned a Beemer, but some of the bigger ones are quite good if you want a roomy, reliable cruiser. Most of the 3 series are driven by planks and poseurs but I quite like the idea of the M3 with 343 bhp and rear wheel drive.

DishMan
7th May 2004, 12:57
Beemer pulled out in front of me lastnight.
He must have gone through a redlight as mine was already green.
Followed him a little way and we ended up side by side at another traffic light.
While following him noticed a couple of extra aerials. Then alongside, noticed a second rear view mirror for the passenger. (Not a plastic clip-on thingy but aproper one). Then I noticed the glass in the half open window -it was approx. 25mm / 1" thick. I have a feeling that should he have wanted to gun it said 7series would probably moved rather swiftly!

Why even make 'em openable?

It is now apparent that the mantle of motoring tosspot has passed from the trilby wearing, pipe smoking Volvo driver of yesteryear to the arrogant, vacuous a***hole that is today's BMW driver.

As shown by the lack of ability to make a point without worthless abuse and the use of profanity it is apparent that Akrotiri bad boy is probably unable to command a position that pays well enough to be able to afford a decent motor car.

Might not the ratio of sex vary inversely with the age and state of the BMW/owner

UL730
7th May 2004, 19:05
Purchased a new 330D Sport a month ago and judging by the ride quality - I'm surprised anyone is capable of anything after a drive around country lanes. Truly sacrifices ride quality for performance handling. One's tackle is truly bounced and in no fit state for anything - even after the shortest journey.

Most of the 3 series are driven by planks and poseurs

Add to this list BFU - stupid buggas that don't take a test-drive beyond the specially prepared silken track just outside the dealers premises

Had a 525i SE some years ago (K reg).
Couldn't wait to get rid of it. Poor design, lack of power, unreliable, poorly equipped, thirsty, etc.
The company ran 40 of them, and I had the policy changed due to highest-in-class maintenance costs and poor fuel consumption.

Sid,

It's a bunch of Brits at Cowley. Sorry, I must have missed out the word "proper" from before "BMWs".

Tell you what, while I'm looking under the Mini's transmission, you look for the BMW badges on the bonnet and bootlid. :p

Shyt,

From http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/1191065.stm
British buyers will be the first to get their hands on the new BMW Mini when it goes on sale on 7 July. The Oxford-built car will come in an entry level and the Cooper, or premium, version.
Now why didn't they call it the Oxford Mini ?

Hondas are built in Swindon
Toyotas are built in Burnaston, Derby
Nissans are built in Sunderland
Peugeot 206 in Coventry

From accountancymagazine.com
BMW is hoping to increase production of the Mini at Cowley to 200,000 vehicles this year.
I think it safe to say that the Mini is 'regarded' as a BMW. (regard-less of your definition of proper!)
:ok:

By the way;
Other front wheel drive BMWs include;

2000 Z8 R50S
1997 B10
1994 BMW Z13
1993 BMW B3
1993 BMW E1
1993 BMW Z11
1989 B10 Biturbo
1957 Isetta 600
1937 321

Hey Sid,

Thanks for all that but I don't think folks say "Look at that w*nk*r in the BMW" when a Mini goes by.

Thanks for your research so early in the morning. Saved me looking on Google and allowed me to get off to bed though...

I'll bet even the Isetta driver gets more sex ... little car, big willy syndrome? But the 600 was little more than a concept vehicle. Nothing worse than rear engine, fwd, eh! Even 47 years ago, they soon came to their senses.

The thought of someone getting carved up by one on the M1 makes me smile though. Good Monty Python sketch?

"Right! I'll 'ave that b*st*rd in the 1957 Isetta 600 rear engine front wheel drive bubble car, he cut me right up - an' it's a BMW! An' look, Mavis, he's havin' SEX in there!" :p

I now volunteer to have my part of this thread merged with the recent spotters' one

Why's that ShyTorque? That sort of horsepower in a rear wheel drive car is a formula for driving enjoyment. My current car has 250 bhp and is about 2/3 the weight of the M3 without any traction control rubbish, so I know what I meant even if you didn't. If the time comes when I need two more seats I will have a good look at the BMW.

My daughter tells me that BMW stands for 'Black Mans Willy' as it has the street cred of being the popular car of choice of drug dealers in certain parts of London.

No idea how she knows!!!!!

Used to own a 635 csi, a red one. Could never understand why I was being mistaken for a pimp or a drug dealer!

Wonderful car, once averaged 70 mph from east Norfolk to west Cornwall. Cruise at 70 mph, 2000rpm but apply firm right foot and it would move. Had it change down into 2nd gear at 90mph once when applying a bit too much right foot.

Now have a Merc, no comparison, but Mrs S wanted the pointy star on the front.
