Hi,

What is the average time to get to luton aiport. Say going 80 mph, down m6 then m1.

Take about an hour and a bit?

Flying form there in june just wondering how long i should leave before my flight at about 11:00am, with EZY

Thanks

Birmingham to Luton

Depends how quickly you can get to the M1 from whatever end of Birmingham you are coming from.

Problems start around Toddington Services southbound in the morning rush. You'll want to get down to Luton for around 9:30-10.00 for a 11:00 flight.

I'd leave Birmingham around 7:30.

At that speed you run the risk of been stopped and the friendly officer quoting "Morning Squadron Leader, run out of run way sir!"

Other than that, aint a clue!

Always a first to get stopped, but i was thinking of either going on the 11.50am or 14:40pm flight.

Pretty fleixble, only £30 rtn if i book while the tax free offer is on.

only going for two days so need to maximise time
so maybeed to leave at 8am or whatever. Im on the east side of birmingham, five mins from M6.
Shame i could not fly from birmingham but hey thats life.

Takes me about 1 hour and 20 mins from B'ham South via A45 M45 M1 if no tfc delays. Leaving at 8 would give you ample time. However, always a good idea to work out in advance alternative routes should the motorway close due accident. Listen out for tfc reports on local stations.

Better to arrive 1 hour early than 1 minute late!

Plan to leave as early as possible (say 0400) then you can enjoy the clean air and the beautiful people that frequent this aviation mecca.
You will have an unrivalled opportunity to see the numerous business jets and orange 737s that between them make up 80% of Luton's movements!!:D :ok: :hmm: :8

get to luton nice and early and take an open top bus ride around the town and see why i believe the place should be made a world heritage site

stalling attitude, you have obviously taken the No 38 route via scenic Bury Park. FANtastic views of Kenilworth Road.

To become a World Heritage centre, you must offer some "heritage". Stratford, Oxford and Cambridge do that brilliantly.

Luton does better in moving 7 million folk from place place via its functional airport.

National Express run service 777 between Birmingham-Luton, (either airport/town centre) which they time round 2 hours 10 for the jouney. It stops at Coventry and Milton Keynes before heading on to Luton. They do tend to over time their services- So if you plan to drive say 2 hours. But of course it all depends what day you plan to travel. Sunday morning your sale down the M1, but Monday morning er...you won`t.

The M1 morning jam normally starts on the wrong side of junction 12 and doesn’t really start to clear these days until after 10 O’clock except on a Friday when traffic is always lighter for some reason.

The other day it took our crew 1 hr 30mins in a taxi but the taxi with the spare part for the plane took 3 hours!!. Lots of questions to be asked from that anyway!!!
