So it wasnt a crash then. Just a burst tyre.

I delt with G-GEMC at CWL on friday and I couldnt see anything wrong with it and would have no problem flying on it.

Have you had a bad experience with emerald???

03 Headset Man

"ther sh360 crashed at liverpool today."

A Tyre burst !!!!!!!

One must presume with your non de plume that you are in some way associated with the aviation industry.

Only comment suitable would be that with your employment, has your village found a replacement ?, if not i suggest you take up the mantle again. Leave aviation for those with a brain.

I agree - also, the famous Leeds United aborted take-off at STN a few years ago (it was NOT a crash) was actually a remarkable display of airmanship on the part of the Captain and FO (and excellent professionalism on the part of the Cabin Crew).

Cheers

yes emerald are c**p. it wasn't a crash, but it doesn't really fill you with confidence about them, don't forget it was only a few weeks a go that a peice from one of their 748's was found on the runway ('twas G-ORAL if i remember)

cwllpl,

My comments to 03 headset man would with your tirade also apply yourself, however, in your case i apologise, as I understand you are trying to keep it a secret.

With spelling that atrociously sh*t one assumes that gobfa and cwllpl are one and the same.

I suggest you ring Flight Ops at the CAA and complain about the standard of Emerald's FOI if he/she are so lax as to have missed the many thousands of events about which you know...

Sounds a lot like CWLLPL and 03 are one and the same. Given the use of language, DADA perhaps?

Obviously have to agree with Fouga and the rest, this idiot has an axe to grind.

As a pilot of this company I have to admit it has faults, but a tyre burst can happen to anyone. Like most airlines, if the tyres are worn, we change them. That is notonly down to management, but the decision of the professional aircrew who operate these aircraft. We will not take them with bald or marginal tyres. I have yet to be presented with one that was.

As for the 748 'incident' - perhaps CWLLPL would again like to check his facts. No part of the aircraft fell off and in no way were the flight crew at fault. I won't even go into the Leeds team incident which has just been summed up much better than I could do here.

All in all, a pity this person can't just do us a favour and drop himself in the Mersey. Some of us work hard at Emerald and are building careers. We don't need vicious comments and outright lies like this to inflame a sometimes touchy situation.

Daifly,

Just to put record straight, no I am not cwllpl in disguise, check my location.

My post was made in the hope that he/she and 03 headset man, would THINK before posting such comments in the future, this site is not exclusive to those in this industry.

Jafo33, all the best to your company with passenger operations, if you search cwllpl's other posts you will come to realise that he appears to be employed by one of the handling agents in LPL a good case for self handling.

Yes, read a AAIB report last year re an Emerald 748 incident over the french alps where it got into servere icing and could not climb due service ceiling reached or decend due MSA, hence flt planned routing was incorrect for A/C type, seems the airline got b******ed from CAA for this incident according to the report!

hopefully emerald will self handle, no company wants to handle them, they are awful to deal with.

and just so everyone knows i am not GOBFA or DADA or 03 Headset Man.

and can i ask, how much fuel does a 748 burn on a flight from lpl to bfs?????

What a load of old crap. The Shed blew its tyre out due to sharp stones on the runway, from talking to the crew it expolded in a fairly spectacular fashion, but it wasn't due to a worn out tyre.

Made a mess of the nice new paint work on the sponson though!

I think CWLLPL works for Aviance, well!! what can ya say.

The SD-360 is one of the most solid a/c in the industry I think, even if that thing landed with no wheels nothing would happen to it, and I hardly think a tyre bursting was a CRASH!!!! get a life!!

I remember Emerald doing LPL/LBA on mail runs, no probs there, I wish they'd come back.

JAFO33!!

As you work for the company can you tell me why the ATP has been doing training all last week at LBA I understand that it has flts elswhere but are any planned for LBA?? ifso we will welcome them with open arms!!

CHEERS!!!!:ok:

jafo33
29th Apr 2004, 17:23
As I hear, the ATP is doing training where it can get slots. LPL not always helpful for training. Gather its also been down to CVT.

We (the aircrew) are usually the last to know. But sincerely hope they have got some routes lined up for it. Thanks for your comments about the Shed. Its fun to fly and built like the proverbial outhouse. (Unless its winter, its leaking and the electrics go out....) but all part of the fun!

Sorry but this type of an incident does not deserve the title it was given , hardly headline stuff, in fact it will probably only get an entry in the CAA MOR's next month, & probably be closed on receipt. In fact Cwllpl & 03 headsetman if you can obatain a copy of the CAA's Mandatory Occurence Reports (MOR)it may give you a good idea of the type of Occurences & a feel for the severity of such incidents for future reference. before posting such titles ;)

here i am the DADA. i am none of the others you all may think, and you all know what i think.....

nonetheless, i agree it is ridiculous to class a tyre burst as a crash.

good luck to their passenger operation - maybe i'll get a free ticket off the mob ?

Quick note for headset man 03, you sound like an illiterate kn:mad: b with very little brains, get a life. I'm sure Emerald will have the last laugh!!!

In the last couple of weeks FlyBe skidded off the runway at Brum, Ryanair had a tyre burst on landing. At this rate there's not ganna be any airlines that 03 Headset feels safe to fly with!

Headset man, you are poorly informed, the Pax route from LPL-IOM commenced on 10th May.

Oh and this one man you talk of at Emerald who gives it a bad name, is he the same guy who has tripled the size of the company in the last 3 years, and introduced 2 new types??? Doesn't seem too bad to me. With 30+ aircraft and more on the way, i'd say emerald are a pretty sizeable company now, wouldn't you!!

dada

the problem most people have with this shower is the aforementioned individual. nobody can dispute the success this
company has had over the past 10 years or so. it will remain a stepping stone for many individuals on various career paths - it's just a pity the mob cannot treat people in a civil and decent manner (or effectively manage them to use hr blurb). if he wasn't so arrogant to see that then it would be even more successful because people would give 110 % - instead they are made to feel like idiots. shame really, because i certainly have happy memories of working for smaller carriers in my early days - something that many at emerald do not i suspect.

as i always say, a right.....................

jafo33
12th May 2004, 23:09
Dada, shame you always have to state the blindingly obvious. Well, perhaps not to you, as you seem blinded by your hate for this man.

Could you post something informative, useful or non-offensive for a change?

After all, there are many people in other regional airlines that are just as unhappy and unable to change their situation as some of us at Emerald.

dada

Never read such a complete load of uninformed rubbish in my entire life!!.......

Firstly, 03 headset man, here are just two of your posts :-

"as emerald airways is soon to start an lpl-iom pax route after stopping the route a few years ago ther sh360 crashed at liverpool today would you really take the risk and fly with them and on a atp aircraft dont think so"

"thanks to all the people who want to give me abuse but it is all down to one person in emerald that makes the company bad you must all agree with that. i belive they still have not started there iom pax rounte yet times is moveing on euro manx seem to be doing well can emerald compete"

I bloody hope your not a pilot because you don't even seem to be able to string a sentence together properly, try reading a book, 'The Three Billy Goats Gruff' is good although perhaps a little ambitious. Or you could page through a few "crash" reports, maybe get a better idea as to what a crash actually is. Come back when you've attained above reading age five years and an understanding of how serious a tire bust needs to be before it's called a crash, before then just shut the f**k up!!.

Then there's cwllpl :- "emerald are back at it again, exactly the same time as yesterday, and yet another shet has burst its tyre on landing and blocked the runway. why would you fly with that shower of s**t. ". Same illiteracy problems, same misunderstanding of aeroplanes, and obviously fancies dada!

And Engineer, "Dont worry there are a shower of s!hts god i am turning into a dada clone ", good input mate, well done.
