What-ho fellow techies!

I've just been given a Server 2003 CD and I'm looking forward to some fun - not everyone's idea of fun, I know, but fun for me!

Now - I've a 20GB HDD with 14GB free running on a 750 Deceleron and the whole lot is set to 1 single active boot partition. In my XP Pro Disk Manager (and with Diskpart in the DOS emulator) I'm totally unable to create a new logical partition - just one big blue line (and I do have Admin rights, of course).

So, question is - am I able to load 2003 Svr onto the C drive as allowed or do I really need to reload XP and 2003 Svr from scratch and do the fdisk from there (I do have an XP Pro SP1 disk).

Thanks (as ever),

PretoriaSillyperson,

Your best option would be a separate hard drive for Win2k3. Then just let the Boot Manager control which OS you boot into. ;)

Well, after thinking about it a bit more I decided the same as you - so I "borrowed" a cheeky 10 GB chappie from work this morning.

Thanks Richard.

PretoriaSillyperson,

Sounds like a great plan. Let us know how it works out.
