Well, it has been an interesting 11 months or so, but all good things..... as they say.

Let me first of all thank Velvet for the Happy Birthday wishes of yesterday. She being the only Jet Blaster I have actually met and am now ever likely to, I thank her again for an interesting evening a few weeks back.

Now to the nub of the matter, roll of drums, solemn music. This will be my last post to Jet Blast and in all probablity to PPrune itself. When I have sent this I will delete the URL from my Bookmarks and Favourites. Celebrations in certain liberal intellectual quarters, Chardonnay flows, copies of the Guardian and New Internationalist are waved in joy.

I wont waste my time with a long diatribe full of invective, suffice it to say that I send my best wishes again to Velvet, Mac the Knife, Tony Draper, Send Clowns, Id Rather, and of course Danny Fyne for providing this web site. Even to Davaar! I havent always agreed with his postings but do acknowledge his Legal skills and wide experience in many fields. I only wish I knew what the hell his "interuptus" thread was all about?

Finally to the two banes of my existance here, Unwell_Raptor and Hug Monster I will utter only this ancient Chinese saying "May you live in interesting times!"

This is Tartan Gannet flying off into the wild blue yonder..........................

We've had our differences, but that's what makes it fun - would be sorry to lose you TG.

So can I ask as well - what has brought this on? I think we should be told.

We shall see......

I reserve my judgement and suppress my rapture.

By the way TG, how did you guess I was drinking Chardonnay? It was on special in Safeway this morning, and it is ideal for a warm evening. Now where is the champagne I have been saving?

Who stepped on your toes??? & just when I was getting used to you calling me a name or two :(

Everything in moderation that's what I say otherwise cyberspace can take over ones life at the expense of reality which ain't good either.

But if you decide to completely cut the cord, good luck.

All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players:
They have their exits and their entrances;
And one man in his time plays many parts,
His acts being seven ages. At first the infant,
Mewling and puking in the nurse's arms.
And then the whining school-boy, with his satchel
And shining morning face, creeping like snail
Unwillingly to school. And then the lover,
Sighing like furnace, with a woeful ballad
Made to his mistress' eyebrow. Then a soldier,
Full of strange oaths and bearded like the pard,
Jealous in honour, sudden and quick in quarrel,
Seeking the bubble reputation
Even in the cannon's mouth. And then the justice,
In fair round belly with good capon lined,
With eyes severe and beard of formal cut,
Full of wise saws and modern instances;
And so he plays his part. The sixth age shifts
Into the lean and slipper'd pantaloon,
With spectacles on nose and pouch on side,
His youthful hose, well saved, a world too wide
For his shrunk shank; and his big manly voice,
Turning again toward childish treble, pipes
And whistles in his sound. Last scene of all,
That ends this strange eventful history,
Is second childishness and mere oblivion,
Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything.

Well, I recognise you TG and Slasher (wherever you are) and quite a few others. Good luck and God speed.

Hopefully HM will not be able to resist a parody...

TG,

This all seems very melodramatic. Didn't think you had it in you. "And now, with no more ado, I shall begone from these vaunted halls to pastures new, etc, etc".

You're not planning on falling on your sword are you, TG?

Who have you been talking to, Mac TK? You have found the Shakespeare quote that has me to a T, including the physical description!

Come on, how did you find out?

Well I shall miss TG, warts and all. He may not have been the most humorous of posters, nor the most liberal minded, but I regret we have lost another character.

When I met him, he was courteous and entertaining, and I'm glad that I did.

I have an idea why he's leaving, so fair winds TG and a good life. Will he be back, maybe, only the Pelagian Synchretist Deity knows ;)

Go on TG - waste our time with a long diatribe full of invective!

Surely there's a few things you'd like to get off your chest before you leave.

I say, my good man...this is not a serious matter..the discourse that goes on here.I for one have read your posts with genuine interest...I agree and disagree with you over the course of time but value your contributions to the various light debates... and bye the way, many happy returns, albeit, belatedly, on your birthday, may you have many more and be healthy.

P*ssing in the wind aren't we? He said he would delete the URL from his bookmarks and never return, as soon he finished the post. Gone. Never to return. Literally a Cyber Death.

...distant sounds of the bagpipes playing 'Flowers of the Forest' drift from the battlements of Edinburgh Castle... Sob!

Jeez, what an exit! Perhaps we now know who the spook was.... :D

Am editing this to record the fact that just five days ago on the Pprune averages thread TG was asking Danny about payment methods for a coloured handle.
So what on earth happened?

If he comes back under a new name, his inimitable style will be instantly recognisable.

Now, TG - this isn't fair - at least give us a clue what the problem was

(and I KNOW you're reading, cos it wouldn't be human nature not to)

Velv - you say you have an idea. I think you should be sharing with us...
