Very nasty. Hope the WSO is OK. What amazing pictures!! Its opened up like a tin can!

That site says, in a post dated 15 April 04, that the accident happened "two days ago".

Not so - it's quite a bit older than that. I believe the accident happened on 12 Sep 00.

Hope the WSO recovered OK.

These pictures have been around for a while. After doing some digging, I found the pictures that were posted in a PowerPoint presentation; the notes say it was created by a USAF Col. (for single projector use) on 02 May 1997!

Does anyone else know if these dates stack up ?

As BossEyed has already said this accident did indeed happen on 12/9/00, the jet was 96-0203, the WSO's left arm was almost severed in the accident, thankfully however after a lengthy recovery period he returned to full flying duties.

WSO's arm was severed.

Now flying again...Lucky guy.
