Who knows all the info on Caymen Islands registered aircraft.
Why do so many biz-jets get registered there? What license do you need to fly them?

VP-C is Cayman Island registration.

I believe that tax exemption and money protection are the main reasons, as well as aircraft certification.
You'll need ICAO licenses to fly a VP-C aircraft.

Also, VP-B for Bermuda, P4- for Aruba and even C6- for Bahamas and 8P- for Barbados are also used.

3B- Mauritius and HB- Switzerland also used.

Thanks very much for the reply.
I presume you mean that any valid ICAO ATPL with type rating will suffice ?? I have a South African ATPL with Hawker and Citation Types and FAA ATPL with Citation Types???? Do you know if they do specific validations??

I think you are well suited for Cayman validation.
You'll need a radio operator license, delivered by the FCC.

It costs $50; see www.fcc.org

Only need an FCC licence if you are getting a validation against an FAA licence. If you have an SA R/T licence you should be good to go

I have a JAA licence and fly a VP reg A/C as far as I know you just have to apply to the Caman CAA for a validation which is valid for a year on type.
