Dear all,

I went through the CX 2nd stage selection, did all those interviews and medical check. I suppose I will be off to adeliade for flight grading, but in fact, the flight recruitment specialist called me in for a cadet management interview.

Does it mean that I dun have to go to adelaide? Or, it's going to come later? Any ideas?

THX

I am still sure that you will have to go to adelaide for grading. Everybody does. People with PPL's, CPL's, and even ME/CIR's so I dont think that you will be exempt. Having said that, do you have any experience that is out of the ordinary? I don't exactly know why you will have a management interview so soon. Normally that doesn't come until stage four after you PASS flight grading. It sounds very odd to me.

Congratulate that you can went through the 2nd stage. For flight grading, you still need to go for it, but after the management interview.

Btw, could you share your view on this stage? It is because I will go for it late this month. Anything that I should pay more attention?

- Do you have aviation background (e.g. PPL). If no, do you find the technical exam and interview very difficult?
- For the group excerise, the topic is general or about aviation?
- Is the general interview similar to that of the 1st in?
- For numeracy test, it is purely arithmetic ( +-*/, just like what is done during the computer test in initial test) or the one which need to read statistic or graph

Thanks a lot!

Hi all,

Congrats to all those who passed 2nd stage. Very interesting that the management interview would come before grading!? So what does this mean exactly, quite curious about it. Does it mean that if you're called for grading after this interview it becomes a matter of pass/fail at grading? Or are performances in both interview and grading considered after grading? Wouldn't make sense to send someone to ADL for grading if the management doesn't like them and doesn't give the go ahead? Also, what is the past rate for final interview anyway?

Interesting, food for thought! Best of luck to all those who got through...maybe one day I could be in the same boat!

hello guys,

well, mrfox and I had just went through the management interview. It's just the same as the ones u did in first and second round, the questions are very similar. So if u can pass the first and second interview, u will be just fine for the management interview.

What happens next? Well, it really is flight grading, which i am pretty scared of as I see most ppl fail for no reason. The gravity force of those lighter airplanes are like unknown to me. Hopefully, i can stand the Gs and not get thrown up in flight grading.

PM me if you have any gd advise for me in flight grading. For the managemnet interview, be well prepared, act as if u did during the last interview of CX and you will come to adelaide in no time.

Cheers to all

Sorry h0114751,

My reply may have been a little confusing...what I meant was what would happen after grading!? Would that be it for the selection process? And do you know anyone who didn't make it through this pre-grading management interview?

Best of luck with grading, when are you off to ADL?

h0114751:

Congrats to you and mrfox!!! Good luck with yours flight grading :D

That means the management interview also include some technical stuffs. Right? Any special questions?

Btw, I'm amazed that the passing rate for flight grading is low. What's the percentage? You mentioned that many people fail for no reason. Is that means they fail even they perform well in the flight test?

Thanks a lot!

Hi there

I dun mean the passing rate is low, what I am saying is I knew a guy who said he got high scores but failed the grading eventually.

I study economics, if cathay spend resources on you, they want you to pass la of coz. On the side, the instructor, he wants u to pass also, so that BAE can have one more student and earn more.

Of coz, these are only in view of economics. In reality things tend to be different, probably they want high quality cadets and screen you out. So dun get me wrong.

Cheers to all

Recruitment had stated that with the current (altered) selection process, the flight grading has become the final stage. If sucessful, all that remain is uniform fitting, and getting a class start date.:ok:

The management interview was conducted by 2 senior captains. They pretty much had all my paperwork laid out on the table and were picking questions off of that, plus some other topics similar to the first 2 interviews as stated before.

Hi

just saw the post re econimics, sorry to say you have to look at the bigger picture CX wont care what it costs sending people down to flight grading and then not picking them, it will cost a whole lot more if they get to their JFO upgrade and cant pass, and Flight safety in Adelaide will get all the work they need form CX.

just do your best, that is all you can do and good luck

Thanks for the info fella's

It just that this system for selection is new and want to know whats happening...Mainly because in the past people have failed management interview after grading and I wanted to see if they're cutting anyone after this interview and before grading?

By the way, when they contacted you after you passed stage two, did they invite you back for the management interview or grading? (ie, did they say "Congrats, you passed stage 2 and you're now going grading...")

Sorry for being so annoying, but I'm really curious...hopefully see you fella's in ADL soon!

Hi guys

For my case, everytime I went through a stage or an interview, the HR calls back quickly, like in 3 days. Then she will tell me what to do next, however, she never congrad me for passing whatsoever. Probably not allowed or I am too bore to talk with.

Also, u say people mostly pass in flight grading but fail in management interview ???? It's real? Coz i really dun know.......thx for providing information

I just heard that people did used to fail management after flight grading, I was just wondering whether the failure rate would still be about the same even though they've changed the order of selection...so no, unfortunately I don't think most people pass grading. But I'm just basing this on rumours, I wnat to find out more myself.
