I have guests considering AC for attendance at my wedding in Toronto. If they book AC via travel agent in Ireland, direct via phone or online, what will happen if AC folds as regards refunds?

thanks

They might want to check two things.

First, what is the position if they pay with credit cards. In the UK, I think the credit card companies now accept that if the tickets (> £100) have been paid for by a credit card, they will have to refund the tcket price even if the tickets have been bought through an agent.

Second, scheduled airline failure insurance is pretty widely available, and is often rolled into retail travel insurance packages. That might well cover the situation as well, although it will be as well to check whether it's still the case where (as in AC's case) the airline is already operating under a form of bankruptcy protection.
