I gotta go with that old Dan Hicks classic; "How can I miss you when you won't go away".

For those of you that may have missed this "chart buster" the chorus goes like this:

"How can I miss you when you won't go away?
I keep telling you day after day,

But you won't listen, you always stay and stay,

How can I miss you when you won't go away?"

My kind of woman Mr G, running a business of her own,

I'm a broken-hearted keelman
An I'm o'er head in love
Wi a young lass from Gateshead
An I call her me dove.
Her name's Cushie Butterfield
An she sells yella clay
An her cousin's a muckman
An they call him Tom Gray.

CHORUS:

She's a big lass

She's a bonny lass

An she likes her beer

An I call her Cushie Butterfield

An I wish she was here.

Her eyes is like two holes
In a blanket pulled through
An her breath in the mornin
Would scare a young coo.
And when I hear her shoutin'
Will you buy ony clay?
Like a candyman's trumpet
It steals me young heart away.
:D

Lots of them of when you were 20 or younger.
I remember the closinŽ melody of Radio Luxembourg at the 70`s ..."at the end of the day, Jazmine...", but don`t know the song title nor the singer.
My favorite, definitely, Van Morrison`s
"Moondance".

Since this thread started I havn't been able to get a particular tune out of my head,
"Hold Me"

Originally released in 1933 but a female singer, whose name I cannot recall, recorded it in the 50's.

(edited cos I have just found it on google)

Went to see a band called Amsterdam last night and they played a song called "Love Phenomenom". Superb song, it was released two weeks ago as a single, but I think the record company only pressed about 1500 copies!

Worth checking out though www.amsterdam-music.com (http://www.amsterdam-music.com)

Although not a true love song like some Slasher has mentioned, I also like Pretty Woman by Roy Orbison.

Why? Cos she turns around and comes back to him :)

Ahhhhh the sound of a booming V-twin through a unrestricted pipe just brings a tear to my eye. To really get me going, hearing the induction roar of the carbies through 5000rpm just melts me. *sigh*

Reddo,
you have missed the point. We don't want to know what your lover sounds like, we want to know about the songs you'd play for him!!
