any truth behind rumours about raising the retirement age to 60?
what is the official position of the pilot union ?

I thought it was already 60. Perhaps you mean for the airline with the green aircraft!!!!!

Apart from a senior FOs, I think both company and union would like to see the retirement age (at CX) rise to 60.

One major hurdle is that the company wants to get rid of A scale salary earners..... and, obviously, they are the senior Capts at CX right now.

The general thinking is that they will let these chaps retire before increasing the retirement age or, after 55, offer to extend them on freighter contracts, based, on a B scale salary (:)!)

But now it is cool to extend on 'freighter scales'....albeit on an 'old boys' increment?

With all the new kit arriving something had better get sorted otherwise there will be a lot of parking charges incurred at HKG. What's the pass/fail rate on the command obstacle course at the moment?:rolleyes:
