View Full Version : A Dead Pool

30th Mar 2004, 15:30
What with Ustinov, Cooke, and Gregg popping their clogs in one week I think it's time for a PPRuNe Dead Pool. The objective is to name ten celebrities who will die during the coming year. Each celebrity counts as one point. Amputations do not contribute towards the total. Paraphrasing a now defunct dead pool site here are the rules:

1. Thou shall honour Ozzy's word because Ozzy's word is final.
2. Thou shall only select People who are alive. Animals, Buildings and Companies are not acceptable.
3. But they must not be at Death's door (they have a nasty habit of getting better).
4. Thou shall not enter Soap characters (or any fictional character).
5. Thou shall not bombard Ozzy with messages telling him he is a sick person.
6. Thou shall knowest that THERE IS NO RULE 6.
7. Thou shall not enter Elvis, Lady Di, Lord Lucan, Spiderman, Shrek, Jimmy Hoffa, Robert Maxwell, Superman, John Stonehouse or Shergar (This list may grow).

Okay, here's my Top Ten:

1. Ronald Reagan
2. Pope John Paul II
3. Maggie Thatcher
4. Clive Dunn
5. Princess Alice
6. Arthur C Clarke
7. John Mills
8. Herbert Lom
9. Yasser Arafat
10. Fay Wray

have at it then....

I'd like to be the first to break Rule 5 and say you're a sick person.

I was under the impression Ronald Reagan qualified for this a couple of years ago?.
That being the case, one thinks you should fine yourself 20 points.
under rule 7

PS, could you pass the word around LA that Mafeking has been relieved please.

PS, One shall opt for John Mills, he looked decidedly fragile last time one saw him.

BfB, Burt slipped this mortal coil in 1994 (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000044/). You'll need to pick another

1) According to this (http://www.whosaliveandwhosdead.com/), Ronnie Reagan is still alive.

2) You are definitely very sick.

3) I don't care about rule 5, or any of the others.

The fact that ole Ronny is still with us qualifies him for the game spork! The question is, will he be with us on Jan 1, 2005?:E

Well ****** me I am really sorry to hear about old Hubert. I really enjoyed his Friday night show, something of the old school about him.

I am far from PC but this thread is beyond the pale, even for JB. I wouldn't want to spoil anyone's fun in normal circumstances but this is in the worst possible taste. I am amazed that no mod has picked up on it yet......

This is sick sick sick!

Out of interest, whats the prize?:E

It's a bit unfair getting to pick 10 - one poster, one dead guy I reckon.

I'm going to go for a rank outsider: Jordan, probably in a freak depressurisation incident...

I'm fasctinated by MOTF's selection - why Whitney? is there some gossip I've missed or is it just wishful thinking?

[mind you, could backfire - it would almost guarantee that the theme from the Bodyguard will get played even more...]

Whitney- rich druggie with abusove husband and no idea of what real life is about. Classic case if you ask me

Camronian - This has been going on for years, indeed most Newspaper offices start a sweep around Christmas. The one sure thing about life is no-one gets away alive, deal with it!!
