Just curious to know how those that started wit PB a few months ogo are getting on.

Are you happy with the (new) job ?
Are the rumoured pay packages, previously listed here, indicative of what is actually being paid ?
What have you been told about promotional opportunities in rank and/ or income ?
Were (are) you happy with the training provided ?
What is the schedule / rostering like ?

Would be great to hear from those who joined the team at PB and see how life is flying the red canaries :)

Further to CommandBars request for feedback - I have a question for PB wannabes who applied last year and missed out on the initial round of interviews..

Has anyone heard anything and if so - what??

I did a follow up with Rishworth in January, after having sent an email with covering letter and CV attached in October. However, they appeared to be having difficulty finding anything to do with my application and they also advised that another round of interviews would be held in "late Jan or Feb" - so far nothing heard.

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but maybe both questions can be addressed in a sensible manner.

Fark!

Started with PB in early Feb. Seems like a very good bunch. I was already type rated and experienced (route and a/c) so I can't really comment on what training would be like for a person new to type. Having said that I am impressed with the standard of training (I spent 6 weeks in Brisbane flying with VB). The Flight training manager is an excellent guy and very good manager.

Pay is $115,000 for Captains, $69000/$74750 for Junior/Senior FO. Maybe not as good as VB pilots but I suspect it will get better over time as the VB package has done!?

Not sure how many more pilots are being hired/interviewed at moment - we have only two aircraft and no immediate plans for more (next proposed routes start in Sept).

Job is great if you like Chch. You could do alot worse in New Zealand aviation!

As good an operation as you will find. Well managed, organised and highly professional. Training is first class and the people are great. Both guys at the top of FLTOPS are a pleasure to work with/for. Low cost is the way of the future without a doubt and this company is doing it well.

Brainwashed.

Low cost is the way of the future alright. Pilot costs that is.

Low cost the "way of the future"................. ? Are you mad?

Are you saying youd rather be doing "low cost" puddle jumping on an average package, pay for your own ratings and uniforms etc than flying heavys for QF, CX, NZ, EK etc?

A second officer at CX earns the same as your skippers! (and only 16% tax).

Jet Mans comments are spot on......... "IF you like CHC....you could do a lot worse in NZ", I whileheartedly agree! (and I love CHC)
