Is it worth the risk?

What other choices do fATPL'ers have? It is about the only way currently for low time pilots to get into the airlines. The real question is are you worth the risk to CTC?

The application process for the scheme is lengthy and if you get that far the course is tough. If you do get through then the 6000 quid will be the best money you ever spent.

Good Luck, there are many threads you can search for regarding CTC and the application process.

What proportion of those who complete the AQC course DON'T make the hold pool?
Other postings have mentioned a low figure in the pool, but how many complete the final stage and are "unsuitable" for recommendation to the pool?!

I guess you're suitable when you have finished the AQC?????

You complete the AQC satisfactorily, you go into the hold pool.

They normally bin you after the first week of the AQC, or during the second week if they think you aren't going to hack it. It's a very unfortunate few who make it through the whole two weeks and get binned at the end, but it has happened.

You usually get a good indication as to how you are doing during the MCC phase in week 1. If you are average/struggling, they will let you know. In the AQC it's usually a slow rate of progress/improvement that gets you binned, rather than not being sh!t-hot from the word go. If you are steadily improving over the two weeks, you may well get the nod ahead of someone who starts well, but doesn't show much progress.

After all, they're looking for sound basic skills that can be trained up, rather than some Mr BigShot who thinks they are home and dry already.
