How easy is it to convert a CASA license to JAR??

And likewise, how easy is it to convert from JAR to CASA?

And approximate price...

JAR to CASA comparatively easy although watch out for the local eg Virgin Blue requirements.
CASA to JAR? A true nightmare of time and cost.
What licence have you got already?
Only folk who get a comparatively easy run are the folks with +3000 TT, 1500 hours in command of +30 tonne aircraft in predominantly international operations or similar. They have to do the medical, 2 exams and a check ride observed by the CAA in a sim.
For the rest of us.
Medical. ~200 quid. Class 1 can only be done at Gatwick.
Theory.
14 JAR exams. ~800 quid.
Course. Distance learning. ~1-3000 quid.
(remember, a min of 2 x 2 week course to get through the exams. Highly recommended. Add in living costs of 100 quid a week)
Full time. 6 months minimum. In theory should be able to be reduced but no one offers that course.
~3-4000 quid. Living expenses ~100 quid a week.

Flying.
If you have +500 hours on a Dash 8 or 737 or something that the UK has a sim or type. Get up to speed for the CAA checkride. Sim ~300 quid an hour. Add ~2-300 for the instructor.
Expect the check to take several hours. Standard SID, airway, extra fun stuff if they feel like it (GRRRRRRR), ILS, NDB and some s/e work.
CAA examiner ~620 quid on top of every thing else.
If you have 500 hours on multi crew aircraft but NOT 500 hours on a JAR 25 type, then you must do a type rating with a TRTO.
Eg Shorts, 737 etc. Whatever that costs, ~9K to 17K plus the CAA examiner....
Doing it this way will give you a JAR ATPL.

Now, if you have a CPL or an Aus ATPL without the 500 hours multi pilot time then you have to go the abridged IR route. 15 hours min, some can be done on a synthetic trainer. Costs for a twin ~300 quid an hour. You can do some of the IR in a single. I don't know what else is required here.

Remember to budget for an MCC if you don't get a JAR ATPL. ~2-3000 quid.

Remember to add about 20% for the "what if's" and the like.
If you are thinking of doing it, I strongly suggest you get some turbine time in oz.
