Plane wreck found in north-west Qld
The wreckage of a light plane missing since yesterday has been found in north-western Queensland.

The plane was reported missing at lunchtime Saturday when it failed to return to Charters Towers after leaving Moranbah.

Australian Search and Rescue spokeswoman Beverly Atkins, says a search involving 12 planes located the plane's wreckage sunday morning.

"We have found wreckage 10 nautical miles west of Mt McConnell," he said.

"We can confirm that it is the missing aircraft.

"We believe at this point that the pilot has not survived the crash.
