during my random expeditions lately i have noticed that some domestic qf flights are using flight numbers as call signs e.g qantas 477. i knew that the 71's, dash 8's and 146's have been doing it the whole time e.g eastern, sunstate. so why would the standard domestic fleet change? i thought it was working fine the way it was. but then again so was the airspace we were flying in 3 and bit months ago.

QF mainline domestic flights changed to FNCs in January. The A330 had been doing so for a bit before that. I haven't operated one yet but at least I've been doing lots of international flights to get me in the 'Qantas XYZ' mode of thinking! ;) :p :}
