Hi Joe,
We spend 24 hours at most layover destinatons. The majority of pairings return to Dubai the following day, but some (mostly 777) trips go further afield (notably Oz/NZ) and can be gone for max 11 days! On the other hand, some trips we get min rest at the hotel!!
Depends what suits the company best commercially. Fatigue and our wishes have no bearing on rest.
Regards, CC.

Unless you prefer turn-arounds, as some do, in which case you are home every night - unless of course it's a night turn-around.

Lots of choices and it's up to you on how you bid.

It's basically like this: Fly as much as possible with little to NO regard for crew fatigue. Back to back night turn around flights with duty periods into the double digits are far from uncommon. Some fair layovers, but usually followed by a....
...yep! A night turn around (the same or next day).
:ok:

To answer you question : Longest Airbus trip is a Moscow turn around!

The longest layover would be the A345 Syd/Akl - 5 days - used to be 4 but now thankfully includes a nightstop in Akl.

Heard that on the Moscow turnarounds in winter if you have to de-ice you are already into descretion with a 15 min or so delay....?

Back at 8 in the morning with late evening pickups also regularly on the cards I believe......the continuing fog and crappy CAT ILS capability at DXB should stuff that up though!

Ooooh dear....Middle East contracts gotta love em, of course we could complain but then you have to make sure you have your next job lined up!

Still could be worse..........well not really.

Fox3,

Don't know the exact timing, but yes you're right that there's not much time to play with on this pairing. A Captain would however be "expected" to use his discretion and extend the flight duty period...

This is not the only flight scheduled in this manner. :yuk:

I understand the problem with the Moscow is obtaining the required visas to be able to nightstop there, otherwise it would be a nightstop. Not that that is any consolation when you are getting back after a 13 or 14 hour day because of de-icing delays.:(
