Aer Lingus is to seek around 100 voluntary redundancies in an effort to reduce its staff numbers at Shannon.

A statement is expected from the airline this afternoon, with the new voluntary severance package to be formally announced on Monday.

Meanwhile, representatives of the Aer Lingus cabin crew union IMPACT are meeting management at the Labour Relations Commission today in a row over the compulsory relocation of 29 staff from Shannon to Dublin.
